11 Years Later, Taylor Swift Treats Fans to an Electrifying Live Rendition of 'Dear John
Taylor Swift performed the song "Dear John" live for the first time in 11 years during her "The Eras Tour" show in Minneapolis.
She made it clear that the release of the album "Speak Now (Taylor's Version)" is not meant for fans to defend her against past subjects of her songs.
"Dear John" is widely speculated to be about John Mayer, whom Swift briefly dated in 2009.
In a 2012 interview, John Mayer expressed feeling humiliated by the song and being caught off-guard by its release.
Taylor Swift has dismissed Mayer's assumption and called it "presumptuous" to believe the song was about him.
Despite this, John Mayer continues to receive negative comments from Swift fans.
Swift's re-release of the album "Red" took place in November 2021.
"Speak Now (Taylor's Version)" is set to be released on July 7th.
